DESCRIPTION:

Valley Manor is a dynamic and progressive Long-Term Care Home.  We are a rural, fully Accredited facility, offering quality nursing care in a friendly & welcoming environment.  We are committed to the safety of our residents and to compliance with the LTCHA legislation.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

The Resident Service Attendant is responsible for providing impeccable and compassionate service to residents by way of bed-making, portering residents throughout the building, assisting in the dining room, filling up supplies and linens, delivering personal laundry, cleaning tables, assisting with resident transfers and assisting with dietary nourishments. The job may include assisting the PSW with hands on personal care. Training will be provided on-site. Ministry of Health LTC Homes Act & Regulations 79/10 will be adhered to. Reports to the Charge Nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience (consideration may be given to high school students)
  • Mature, friendly, outgoing, positive attitude, self-starter, dependable with the ability to perform assigned duties within a flexible work schedule within 7 days a week operation of service.
  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and evenings, including call-in shifts Knowledge of senior’s care and willingness to learn
  • Committed to learning the Residents Bill of Rights as per the LTC Act Committed to lifelong learning and growth
  • Criminal reference check completed within the past 6 months, or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Maintains all Infection Control protocols
  • Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with all employees Attends RSA meetings and General Staff Meetings
  • Completes all Mandatory Education and Emergency Code training Is aware of the Valley Manor Fire Plan and Disaster Plan
  • Any other related duties
