DESCRIPTION:

Valley Manor is a dynamic and progressive Long-Term Care Home.  We are a rural, fully Accredited facility, offering quality nursing care in a friendly & welcoming environment.  We are committed to the safety of our residents and to compliance with the LTCHA legislation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Registered Practical Nurse with a current (or temporary) certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Vulnerable Sector Check valid within the last 6 months or can obtain one, please be proactive and start the process now.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post RN education and experience in gerontology or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, assessment, interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to supervise, and provide direction to RPNs, PSWs and other staff
  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing resident-focused care in a long-term care setting
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience with RAI-MDS, Point-Click-Care and electronic MAR is very beneficial
  • Knowledge related to the Long-Term Care Homes Act (FLTCA)
  • Completes Mandatory Education as assigned, and has a desire for ongoing learning
  • Attends Staff Meetings
